About
Piko Workshop is an architectural design and planning firm — founded on the simple idea of making engaging residential design accessible to more people. We specialize in tropical residential architecture, furniture design and interior consultation.
Working across the disciplines of architecture, art and engineering, our projects are a collaborative effort between designers and craftsmen. Together, we create spaces that make people feel as though they are one with their environment. From wide open vistas to dense urban spaces, we work to create harmony between built and natural environments.
Drawing from site specific vernacular inspiration, our designs seek to immerse clients in nature by inviting breezes into the home and obscuring the line between indoor / outdoor space. With a belief that less is more, Piko often utilizes regional materials leading to sustainable and affordable results.
AN INTEGRATED TEAM
For our clients who prefer it, we can both design and manage building projects. Each person on the core Piko team is educated in architecture and has solid construction experience. This creates nimble and seamless management across all phases of the project, eliminating overlapping costs and providing one point of contact for the client, ensuring a smooth, consolidated process from start to finish.
An economical APPROACH
We focus on efficient space planning, vernacular inspiration and passive temperature control, allowing a higher number of clients to benefit from our services through reduced building costs. Every design location has its challenges, but through meticulous planning, minimal site disturbance and a less is more mentality, we are able to create unique and affordable designs for our clients that connects them to their natural surroundings.
THE un-ART OF ARCHITECTURE
Art-making is key to the architecture work of Piko, but we won’t let it lead us down a path we don’t want to go.
budget / material availability / environmental impact / climate / lifestyle — this is where a project takes shape. At the singular junction of these constraints is where our designs flourish.
